Up to 16 cm of snow may fall in the capital in the coming days. City services are working around the clock, eliminating the effects of snowfall. This was reported on January 12 in the Telegram channel of the Moscow city economy.
"The snowfall in Moscow continues, the precipitation did not stop all night. According to the forecast of meteorologists, snow growth in the coming days may reach up to 16 cm," the report says.
It is specified that since early morning, continuous mechanized sweeping of the carriageway and sidewalks has been repeatedly carried out on the road network, followed by deicing treatment.
Municipal services organized the removal of formed snow banks from roads and highways. During the day, similar work on loading and removing snow is planned in the yards and in the inner-city areas. Heavy loading equipment, including those working on the roadway, was involved in the cleaning.
Drivers were urged to take extra care when driving and strictly adhere to the rules of the road. In addition, during the daytime, snow and ice continues to be cleared from the pitched roofs of residential buildings, facade elements, as well as gutters and funnels.
On the same day, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that cloudy weather, light snow, moderate and icy conditions were expected in the capital on January 12. At the same time, the daytime air temperature will range from -3 to -5 degrees.
