Klitschko said there was no heat supply in more than 1,000 houses in Kiev.
Residents of more than 1,000 houses in Kiev remain without heat supply, despite repairs. This was announced on January 11 by the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko.
"More than 1,000 houses in the capital remain without heat. In other houses, the coolant supply has been restored," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Klitschko added that the water supply, which had been disrupted in some areas, had been resumed for all residents. Nevertheless, he called the energy supply situation in the city difficult.
The mayor of Kiev noted that utilities and power engineers are working in an enhanced mode, but in the coming days severe frosts may prolong the difficult situation in the city.
Klitschko said on January 9 that Kiev residents who have the opportunity to leave their apartments should do so due to the lack of heat and water in their homes. According to the mayor, half of the houses in Kiev are not heated — almost 6 thousand people live in these buildings.
At the same time, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky criticized the Kiev city authorities for poor preparation for power outages in the city, urging them not to run away from problems. He added that repair crews are working to restore power supply networks in many cities of Ukraine.
