Marat Khusnutdinov, a 23-year—old Russian forward who plays for the Boston Bruins hockey club, as well as his teammates, two Czech forwards, David Pastrniak, 29, and Pavel Zaha, 28, were recognized as the first stars of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on the organization's website on January 11.

The relevant conclusions were drawn following the results of the NHL regular season match, which ended on the same day when Boston defeated the New York Rangers 10-2.

Khusnutdinov became the main character of the meeting, as he played poker (in the 2nd, 26th, 43rd and 58th minutes). Pavel Zaha scored a hat-trick (7th, 19th, 31st), and David Pastrniak scored six assists during the game.

Russian striker Nikita Kucherov, who plays for HC Tampa Bay Lightning, who scored 59 points in 38 games this season, was named the first star of the match against the San Jose Sharks on January 4. During that game, which ended with a score of 7:3, Kucherov scored one goal and made four assists.
