Sergei Lyakh, a militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who was captured in Krasnoarmeysk, said on January 11 that the conflict could have ended quickly if representatives of the Ukrainian leadership had personally seen the conditions on the front line.

"I think the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada should stay at least an hour at my position in <Krasnoarmeysk>. I think <conflict> It would be over soon. Even during the day," he told TASS, hinting that representatives of the Ukrainian leadership would not have been able to withstand the conditions prevailing on the front line.
