The media reported the death of a Russian woman when a boat collided with a trawler in Phuket.

A Russian citizen was killed and 21 other people were injured in a collision between a high-speed tourist boat and a fishing trawler on the Thai island of Phuket. This was reported on January 11 by the newspaper ThaiRath.

"A fatal outcome has been confirmed for one tourist <...> 18 years old, a Russian citizen," the report says.

According to preliminary data, there were at least 55 people on board the tourist vessel. Rescue services and police are working at the scene.

According to the AmarinTV TV channel, all tourists have been evacuated, and the injured have been taken to the nearest hospital on Phipi Island for medical treatment. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
