The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to submit a report on the situation surrounding the demolition of the building of the Institute of Pulp and Paper Industry (VNIIB) in St. Petersburg. This was reported on January 9 in the Telegram channel of the department.

The UK noted that the reason for the order was the appeals of citizens on social networks, in which they ask law enforcement agencies to intervene in what is happening.

"It is noted that at the end of 2025, an application was received to recognize the building as an object of cultural heritage and the inadmissibility of demolition. The public is asking to intervene," the publication says.
