On January 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted for ratification to the State Duma an agreement with Belarus on measures to protect citizens from unjustified persecution by foreign states. Information about this follows from the database of bills of the State Duma.

"On the basis of paragraph "d" of Article 84 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and in accordance with the Federal Law "On International Treaties of the Russian Federation", I am submitting to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on measures for mutual protection of Citizens from unjustified persecution by Foreign States and International judicial authorities, signed in Moscow on March 13 2025," the document says.
