The foreign policy "Donro doctrine" ensures the security of the Western Hemisphere. This was announced on January 9 by US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News.

"They (US citizens — Ed.) call it the "Donro doctrine." I didn't call it that, but they call it the "Donro doctrine," which, in fact, provides security for this (Western Hemisphere — Ed.) part of the world," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The name "Donro" probably refers to the Monroe doctrine, proclaimed by the fifth President of the United States, James Monroe, in 1823. She called on European states to stop colonizing the countries of the Western Hemisphere. Over time, this concept came to mean the geopolitical dominance of the United States in South and North America.

On January 5, the US State Department officially declared the Western Hemisphere an exclusive zone of Washington's interests. The department also noted that Trump would not allow the security of the United States to be jeopardized.

On January 4, Andrei Klishas, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on state Construction, said that during a press conference on the United States attacks on Venezuela, the US authorities denied the right to sovereignty to all countries of the Western Hemisphere.
