In Ukraine, schools and universities can switch to distance learning

The Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of temporarily transferring schools and higher education institutions to a distance learning format due to adverse weather conditions. This was announced on January 8 by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko in her Telegram channel.

According to her, relevant instructions have already been given to relevant departments and regional administrations.

"The Ministry of Education and Science, together with other central executive authorities, regional and Kiev city military administrations, must urgently work out the issues of temporary termination of the educational process in full—time format," Sviridenko said.

She clarified that it is possible both to switch to distance learning and to extend winter holidays at least until January 19, 2026.
