- Parishioners of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior shared their emotions from the Christmas service
The participants of the Christmas service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior shared their impressions and the significance of the holiday for the faithful. This became known on January 7.
The parishioners noted the special atmosphere of the service and the high level of organization. According to them, Christmas remains one of the most significant and anticipated holidays of the year, uniting people and filling them with hope.
"We came in a wonderful mood. Moreover, the organization was amazing — it was very gratifying. Christmas is the main holiday for any Christian," parishioner Lidia Drobitskaya told Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin.
Vladimir Sipkin, President of the All-Russian Society of the Blind, stressed that he tries to celebrate Christmas every year in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
"It gives new strength, new feelings and confidence in the future and in our great Russia," he said.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Christmas services on the night of the holiday were held in more than 500 churches in Moscow, as well as throughout Russia. Services were held, in particular, in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Novodevichy Monastery and the Church of the Ascension of Christ. Residents of the Far East were the first to celebrate Christmas.
