Four districts of the Samara region have been quarantined due to rabies.
In the Samara region, quarantine has been introduced in four settlements due to the detection of foci of animal rabies. This is evidenced by the decisions of Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, published on the official website of the government.
The quarantine regime will last at least 60 days from the moment of destruction of the last sick animal. According to the documents, the territories within a radius of 3 km from the identified foci are officially recognized as unfavorable rabies sites.
The first quarantine was announced on December 30 in the village of Bolshaya Dergunovka, Bolsheglushitsky district. Later, on January 4, the head of the region signed similar documents for three more settlements: the village of Novye Klyuchi (Kinel-Cherkassy district), the village of Nizhnyaya Bykovka (Koshkinsky district) and the village of Mikhailo-Lebyazhye (Hvorostyansky district). Outsiders are prohibited from entering these zones, importing and exporting animals without vaccinations, hunting and holding fairs.
Rabies is a particularly dangerous infection that almost always leads to the death of a person after the appearance of clinical signs. The virus affects the nervous system and is transmitted through the bites of infected animals.
In December 2025, quarantine for influenza and acute respiratory viral infections was introduced in medical organizations of the Chelyabinsk region. The reason for the tightening of sanitary rules was an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and an increase in the proportion of influenza viruses among the identified pathogens. Restrictive measures will remain in effect until further notice. The quarantine has extended to hospitals, social protection institutions with round-the-clock stay of citizens, as well as organizations providing care for the elderly and the disabled.
