The Russian Embassy in Colombo is monitoring the situation related to the death of a Russian citizen in Sri Lanka and is conducting the necessary consular procedures. This was announced on January 6 by the press secretary of the diplomatic mission Mikhail Rogov.
Earlier, the Network reported that a 33-year-old Russian woman died in Sri Lanka on New Year's Eve. It was clarified that she became ill on December 21, she went to the doctors only the next day, was hospitalized in Halle and died.
"The embassy has information about the death of a Russian citizen and is keeping the situation under control. We are carrying out the necessary consular procedures," Rogov said in an interview with TASS.
However, the embassy has not yet been able to confirm that the cause of death was dengue fever.
A Russian citizen was slightly injured on December 30 as a result of a train collision on the route connecting the village of Ollantaytambo and the ancient city of Machu Picchu in Peru. It was noted that the Russian Embassy in Peru is in contact with the victim.
