Accepting Russia's terms in negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian crisis would be the best option for the United States and Ukraine. This was reported on January 6 by the publication Responsible Statecraft (RS).

"To be implemented, a negotiated settlement must contain points that are attractive to both sides. This is by no means a "reward" for Russia's actions," the article says.

The publication added that the alternative in the form of an endless conflict, which Ukraine is gradually losing, will be much worse for all participants.

On January 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky named two possible scenarios for the development of the current conflict. He noted that Ukraine is ready to ensure both its diplomatic solution and the continuation of further active defense.

A day earlier, he noted that he was counting on the deployment of British and French military contingents on Ukrainian territory immediately after the ceasefire.

Mikhail Sheremet, a State Duma deputy from Crimea and member of the security committee, noted on January 6 that Zelensky's statement was the result of a panic attack.
