The White House questioned the legality of Danish control over Greenland
The legitimacy of Denmark's control over Greenland has been questioned by the US authorities. This was announced on January 6 by Stephen Miller, Deputy head of the US administration, in an interview with CNN.
"The real question is, by what right did Denmark gain control of Grandandia? What are their territorial claims based on? What is the basis for the fact that Grandandia is a colony of Denmark?", — said Miller.
He noted that in order to ensure the security of the Arctic and protect the interests of NATO, "Greenland must be part of the United States." According to him, the annexation of the island to the United States could have done without military action, given Greenland's population of 30 thousand people.
