It is specified that the 27-year-old man was in the forest as part of a hunting group tracking a moose when the incident occurred.

"The passenger was wounded in the thigh, as a result of which he died," the department's Telegram channel reported.

According to investigators, a hunter hiding in the forest mistook a passing car for an animal and fired a shot. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").

"Currently, the man has been detained, the weapon of the crime has been seized. The investigator has charged him," the department said.

According to the source of Izvestia, the suspect Vladislav comes from a family of hunters and has been engaged in the craft since 2018. In addition, a gun license and a hunting permit are official — a man needs to be checked because of the civil service.
