Queues at the checkpoint on the border of Russia and China arose as a result of the growing flow of passengers. This was announced on January 5 at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Harbin.

"Appeals from Russian citizens about the queue of buses accumulated in front of the Chinese border checkpoint Manchuria were received by the Consulate General on January 4 in the evening," TASS quoted the message as saying.

According to the agency, the problem was associated with a sharp increase in passenger traffic. It is specified that on January 4, more than 3 thousand passengers passed through the checkpoint to enter the People's Republic of China, and 2,716 passengers left. The diplomatic mission added that on January 5, the point was already operating normally.

On November 26, 2025, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia denied information about increased security at the border with China. According to Anastasia Vitushinskaya, CEO of China Travel, China has not introduced additional control measures, but conducts a thorough baggage inspection on an ongoing basis.
