The preliminary cause of a gas explosion in an apartment building in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region, was identified as violations of safety regulations. This was announced on January 4 by Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"It is highly likely that this incident occurred due to violations of safety regulations when handling gas equipment," Gorelykh said.

According to him, three victims were taken to the hospital from the scene.: the owner of the apartment with burns and two other women from neighboring apartments who inhaled carbon monoxide. They received first aid.
