Working pensioners in Russia will continue to recalculate pensions from August
Working pensioners in Russia will continue to have their insurance pensions recalculated annually, taking into account employer contributions over the past year. This follows from the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, given on January 4 by TASS.
The Social Fund of Russia has been appointed responsible for the recalculation, which must report annually to the Ministry of Labor. It is noted that the measure is aimed at increasing the financial security of older citizens.
The document states that the recalculation of insurance pensions is one of the measures calculated until 2030 and aimed at improving the quality of life of older citizens.
The recalculation is carried out from August 1 of each following year on the basis of individual pension coefficients (IPCs), which the pensioner continues to accumulate even after retirement. For example, on August 1, 2026, pensions will be recalculated based on the results of work for 2025.
Vadim Vinogradov, Professor and Dean of the HSE Faculty of Law, said on December 30 that in 2026 pensioners will receive an increase in payments according to the inflation forecast. It is specified that the indexing procedure will take place automatically, without submitting applications. An increase in social pensions is planned from April 1 by 6.8%. The expert also said that payments to military pensioners will be recalculated in the autumn of the coming year.
