President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on January 3 that he expects the deployment of military contingents of Great Britain and France on Ukrainian territory immediately after the ceasefire.

"Britain and France are the leaders of the coalition. Their military presence is mandatory. <...> The cease—fire is a signal when the work of the "coalition of the willing" opens, when the presence will actually be immediately after the cease—fire," he said at a meeting with journalists broadcast by the Ukrainian TV channel Novini Live.

According to Zelensky, the proposed military presence will include monitoring compliance with the ceasefire, support for the Ukrainian army with weapons and technology, intelligence cooperation, as well as conducting training missions. At the same time, he acknowledged that the final document with the details of such a format of cooperation has not yet been prepared.

On January 3, Zelensky announced the existence of a new chance to resolve the Ukrainian conflict after holding a meeting of the "coalition of the willing." It was clarified that during the meeting, the sequence of further steps to resolve the conflict was discussed.
