The Interior Ministry told about a two-stage fraud scheme with meter verification

The scammers began using a two-stage deception scheme, in which they extort personal data from Russians by posing as employees of the vodokanal and law enforcement agencies. This follows from the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on January 3, which were reviewed by TASS.

So, at the first stage, the attackers call citizens and, under the guise of employees of the water utility, inform them about the alleged impending replacement of water meters. To complete the procedure, they ask you to provide the SNILS data.
