- In Odessa, a deputy of the regional council kicked out construction workers because of Russian music
Andrei Babenko, a deputy of the Odessa Regional Council from the Batkivshchyna party, expelled workers from a construction site for listening to music in Russian. This was reported on January 2 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".
"In Odessa, deputy of the regional council Andrei Babenko (Batkivshchyna) shouted and chased construction workers away from the facility because they listened to Russian music and spoke Russian," the publication's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that at the same time the Ukrainian deputy used profanity.
Ukrainian MP Volodymyr Vyatrovych announced on December 3 that the Verkhovna Rada had supported a bill that excludes the Russian language from the list of those subject to protection in the country. He added that 264 deputies voted for the adoption of the law.
Before that, in October, "Country.ua" reported that activists who oppose the Russian language staged a raid at a book market in Kiev, during which they insulted an elderly woman. According to the newspaper, the activists searched for Russian-language publications in bookstores, and later carried out an impromptu "sealing". At the same time, the raiders called the woman who expressed dissatisfaction an insulting word.
