In the Krasnodar Territory, due to the sticking of wet snow and icing of wires, a massive power outage occurred, affecting about 43 thousand people. This was announced on January 1 by the governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratiev.

"In recent days, a large amount of precipitation has fallen in the Krasnodar Territory, due to the sticking of wet snow, icing of wires and trees in many municipalities, especially in the foothills, there have been power outages. Currently, about 43,000 people remain without electricity," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Kondratiev, the situation is particularly difficult in certain settlements, including Belorechensky, Absheron, Kurganinsky, Labinsky and Ust-Labinsky districts, as well as in Armavir and Sochi.

The governor added that specialists had been working all New Year's Eve and continued to eliminate the effects of bad weather. Currently, more than 120 brigades are involved in emergency management. Heating has been restored in almost all districts of the regional center, with the exception of the Belorechensk district.
