Orban made a wish for Europe in 2026
On January 1, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wished New Year's greetings and wished that 2026 would be the time for Europe to return to common sense.
"Happy New Year! May 2026 be the year when <...> Europe returns to common sense!", Orban wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The Hungarian Prime Minister also wished peace in the new year.
Earlier in the day, former German Ambassador to the United States and chairman of the Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, said that Europe was left alone. According to him, now European countries must independently protect their values.
