A verdict was passed in the case of embezzlement of over 500 million rubles from the Russian Ministry of Defense

The court found Dmitry Levchenko, head of IFK RNGS Capital LLC, and Andrey Grunin, CEO of Sibai LLC, guilty in the case of multimillion-dollar embezzlement in the execution of a state defense order. This was reported on December 30 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

As established by the investigation and the court, in 2022-2023, the state customer concluded contracts with commercial organizations, including RNGS Capital and Sibai, for the provision of services and the supply of goods in excess of 1.3 billion rubles. Levchenko and Grunin, acting together with other representatives of contracting organizations, provided deliberately false information about the cost of the work, which allowed them to steal more than 500 million rubles of budget funds.

"The court sentenced Levchenko to 8 years in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime penal colony, Grunin to 5 years in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime penal colony, with a fine of 500 thousand rubles each," the message says.

During the investigation, measures were taken to compensate for the damage: over 470 million rubles were returned to the state.

On December 24, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the case of embezzlement from the Russian Ministry of Defense of more than 500 million rubles on government contracts in Dagestan had been investigated. The investigation revealed that the defendants had signed state contracts for the construction of facilities in Dagestan in the amount of over 1 billion rubles. When fulfilling government contracts, the defendants overestimated the cost of building materials, as a result, they stole more than 500 million rubles.
