Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Wang Yi said on December 30 that the country would continue to strengthen its strategic partnership with Russia.

"We will strengthen Sino-Russian relations based on unwavering good neighborliness and friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation," he said at a conference on the international situation and Chinese diplomacy in 2025, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to Wang Yi, the cooperation is aimed at protecting relations between major countries and preserving international strategic stability.

The Chinese Foreign Minister also noted that China hopes for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, which will achieve sustainable peace and stability in Europe.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a briefing on December 29 that China is making efforts to promote the peace process in Ukraine. This statement was made in response to a speech by the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, about China's alleged lack of readiness for the peace process.
