In 2026, a number of changes affecting different aspects of citizens' lives will begin to take effect in Russia. This was reported by TASS on December 27.
In particular, self-employed Russians will be able to independently apply for sick leave with subsequent payment of benefits. In the field of financial security, the Central Bank of Russia will expand the list of signs of fraudulent transactions — their number will increase from six to twelve.
The minimum wage will be raised to 27,093 rubles. In the military sphere, it is planned to switch to year-round conscription.
The indexation of insurance pensions by 7.6% is also provided. The period of child care up to the age of one and a half years will be included in the insurance record of the parent.
Low-income families will be able to receive a refund of a portion of the personal income tax paid for the previous year. In addition, additional funding will be allocated to the regions for the treatment of citizens with life-threatening and chronic diseases.
On December 24, the Federation Council approved a law that increases fines for imposing additional goods and services on consumers. It is specified that they will amount from 50 thousand to 150 thousand rubles for officials and individual entrepreneurs, legal entities can be fined from 200 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.
