Children from the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LNR and DNR), who came to Moscow for the Kremlin Christmas Tree, visited the robotics exhibition "Robostation" at VDNH in Moscow. On December 26, the participants of the excursion shared their impressions with Izvestia.
The exhibition features robots from all over the world. Among them is the interactive android Thespian, which can communicate with people and mimic facial expressions, a Sociobot that copies human emotions, and many others. The children noted the variety of the exposition and the uniqueness of the robots presented.
"Everywhere you look, everything is changing. <...> Everything is so fascinating, new, and interesting. <...> These robots are just so smart and unusual. I've never seen them like this before. Everyone needs to see it live, touch it, examine it all, see it," said Zarina Rzayeva, a participant in the tour.
Another participant, Makar Mamenko, shared a story about a prediction robot that gathered a crowd and sprayed water at some people. He also said that some robots can "kick" or hug. He also pointed out the beauty of Moscow and the abundance of entertainment infrastructure in the city.
Alisa Taktarova, one of the visitors of the exhibition, suggested that robotics will help in the future to develop new technologies, for example, in medicine.
"Robots are a very interesting topic because we are learning more about artificial intelligence, which will further help us explore new technologies, help with robotics itself, and help doctors cure cancer," she stressed.
On December 24, the traditional Scientific Christmas Tree of the Polytechnic Museum of Moscow, which this year is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Arctic passage and the exploration of the North, opened for children at the State Museum of the History of Russia. According to Dmitry Kozhanov, the general director of the museum, the Scientific Christmas Tree differs from ordinary holidays in that children do not just have fun during the event, but acquire new knowledge. During the interactive program, children will learn about the Arctic, scientific stations, natural resources and flora of the region, as well as learn how to knit sea knots and understand flag signaling used in the fleet.
