A fighter of the Russian Orlan unit was injured while repelling an attack by a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region. This was announced on December 25 by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"When repelling an FPV drone attack in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, a man suffered a mine explosion injury, shrapnel wounds to his back and a penetrating wound to his chest," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the governor, the soldier's colleagues took him to the Shebekinsky Central district hospital, where he received the necessary assistance. To continue treatment, the fighter will be transferred to the regional clinical hospital.

The operator of the FPV drone, who destroyed hundreds of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is confident that he will return to service after being seriously injured.

Earlier in the day, air defense systems destroyed 44 Ukrainian drones over the regions of Russia, including two drones over the territory of the Belgorod region. Gladkov noted that currently the situation in the border areas of the Belgorod region remains difficult.
