On December 25, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed doubt about the ability of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to make adequate decisions to resolve the situation in Ukraine after his Christmas address.

In his Christmas video, the Ukrainian president wished someone to "disappear" or "perish," saying that this would be the wish of all Ukrainians for Christmas, but did not specify to whom this comment was addressed.

Peskov, commenting on the statement, noted that such words call into question the ability of the Ukrainian leader to make informed decisions towards a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict.

"I would like to ask myself if he (Vladimir Zelensky. — Ed.) to make an adequate decision towards a settlement by political and diplomatic means," he told reporters.

Zelensky revealed for the first time on December 24 all 20 points of the peace plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. As noted in the document, the agreement should be based on recognition of Ukraine's sovereignty, a non-aggression pact with Russia, as well as international security guarantees modeled on Article 5 of the NATO Charter.

Subsequently, Peskov did not comment on the publication of the peace plan, saying that Russia "considers it inappropriate" to discuss contacts through the media. According to him, Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), reported to Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the results of negotiations between the Russian and American delegations in Miami.
