The Chairman of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, got acquainted with the development of the republic's secret underwater systems, and also approved the creation of a reformed Naval Forces (Navy). This was reported on December 25 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

During the visit, the leader of the republic was informed about the progress of construction and showed the development of underwater weapons, which are designed to strengthen the country's naval potential. According to the DPRK leader, further accelerating the modernization of the DPRK's Naval Forces and the development of nuclear weapons is an urgent task for the republic.

"Comrade Kim Jong—un specifically familiarized himself with the research of new underwater secret weapons, outlined a strategic plan for the reformation of the Navy and the creation of a new unit," the publication says.

It is noted that Kim Jong-un personally visited the facility where a nuclear submarine with a displacement of 8,700 tons is being built, which will be equipped with strategic missiles. He specified that nuclear submarines will contribute to improving the Navy's combat capability, protecting the strategic sovereignty and security of the region.
