Hostage-taking and escape of a prisoner from a penal colony were stopped in the Kurgan region

In the Kurgan region, a prisoner serving a sentence for committing a serious crime planned to take a hostage and escape from the colony, his actions were stopped by employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the region. This was announced on December 24 by the press service of the department.

"The defendant, who is serving a sentence for committing a serious crime, planned to take an employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service hostage in order to subsequently detain and force state authorities to comply with his demands for the hostage's release," TASS quoted the text of the message.
