Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Igor Krasnov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree. The relevant decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on December 24.

"For services to the state, a great contribution to strengthening the rule of law and many years of conscientious work, Igor Viktorovich Krasnov should be awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree," the document says.

On September 24, the Federation Council appointed Krasnov to the post of Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. The decision was made unanimously at the plenary session of the chamber — all 160 senators voted for Krasnov.

On December 2, Putin awarded Nadezhda Babkina, People's Artist of the RSFSR, the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, first Class. It was noted that the artist was awarded for her great contribution to the development of Russian culture and art, as well as many years of fruitful activity.
