Uganda plans to consider the possibility of abolishing the visa regime for Russian tourists in the future. This was announced on December 22 by John Leonard Mugerva, Head of the Department of International Law and Social Affairs at the Ugandan Foreign Ministry.

"Currently, a visa is issued online and issued within two days, but we will consider the possibility of canceling visas for tourists in the future," the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.

Asked about the completion of the agreement between Russia and Uganda on visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports, Mugerva noted that the signing was planned at the second ministerial conference in Cairo, but the parties agreed that it would take place in February next year in Moscow.

In December, an intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Jordan on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for citizens of both countries entered into force. It was noted that the agreement allows Russian citizens to visit Jordan and stay there without a visa for up to 30 days at each entry, provided that they do not intend to work, conduct business, study or permanently reside in the country.
