Freight train derailed in Zhytomyr region of Ukraine

A freight train derailed in the Zhytomyr region in northern Ukraine. This was announced on December 22 by the press service of the Ukrzheldoroga company in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that the incident occurred in the area of the city of Korosten. The driver and the assistant were injured, they were hospitalized.

Due to the accident of the freight train, the driver of a passenger train traveling along the neighboring route from Kharkov to Uzhgorod had to resort to emergency braking. As a result, the locomotive derailed.

The company warned that due to the accident, the routes of a number of long-distance trains have been changed, which will lead to delays of three hours.
