The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Magnitogorsk, police Colonel Konstantin Kozitsyn, was detained on suspicion of disclosing state secrets. This was announced on December 22 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, Kozitsyn passed information related to state secrets to a representative of a commercial organization who did not have the appropriate security clearance. At the same time, the colonel used his official position to lobby for the interests of this person.

He is suspected of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 283 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Disclosure of state secrets").
