About 16 files on the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein have disappeared from the website of the US Department of Justice. This was reported on December 21 by the Associated Press (AP).

"At least 16 files disappeared from the publicly accessible web page of the Ministry of Justice containing documents related to Jeffrey Epstein <...> less than a day after their publication," the material says.

According to the publication, the documents, including images of paintings with naked women and a series of photographs placed on a chest of drawers and in drawers, appeared in the public domain on Friday, but by Saturday their availability was limited.

Also on Saturday, representatives of the US Department of Justice did not comment on inquiries about the reasons for the disappearance of files from public access.

The US Department of Justice began publishing the files of financier Jeffrey Epstein after US President Donald Trump signed a bill on their publication on November 19. On December 20, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, joked about the queue of people who wanted to get acquainted with the declassified files.

On December 12, members of the US Democratic Party in the House Oversight Committee announced that they had received 95,000 photos from the case of financier Epstein.

Izvestia reviewed the files on the Epstein case on December 20. A photo of the 42nd American President Bill Clinton lying in a Jacuzzi was found among them. Next to him is a man whose face is hidden. In another photo, Clinton is swimming in a pool with two women.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
