- Bezverkhny, a veteran of the special services, called the attempted hijacking of the MiG-31 a failure.
The unsuccessful attempt to hijack a MiG-31 interceptor fighter with a Dagger by the Ukrainian and British sides was a real failure for them. This was announced on December 20 by the head of the FSB Military Counterintelligence Department in 2000-2015, Colonel-General Alexander Bezverkhny.
"They [the enemy's special services] were counting on a big public outcry, but they failed," he said in an interview with TASS.
On November 11, the FSB announced the prevention of an attempt by the military intelligence of Ukraine, with the support of the British special services, to hijack a Russian MiG-31 fighter equipped with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile. It was clarified that the intelligence service was trying to recruit Russian military pilots, offering them up to $ 3 million for an airplane flight to the territory of one of the NATO countries. It was noted that the Bellingcat organization was involved in the plans (recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation).
At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov compared Britain to a "goose that came out of the shower" after the role of the United Kingdom in the provocation with the hijacking of the Russian MiG-31 was revealed. He added that after the detailed exposure of the FSB, it is impossible to imagine how "the British will be laundered."
