Mandatory registration of mobile devices imported into Russia in a single database of IMEI numbers (unique numbers assigned by manufacturers to each device) is planned to be carried out for an additional fee. This was reported on 19 by Kommersant with reference to the Ministry of Finance of Russia.

"Currently, several models of device registration in the database are being worked out, including on the terms of charging a small fixed fee for officially imported devices," the ministry's press service explained.
