The first regiment with S-500 anti-aircraft systems took up duty in the Russian Armed Forces

The first regiment of the Russian Army, equipped with the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system, has begun combat duty. This was announced on December 17 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at the final meeting of the board of the military department.

"The Air Defense and Missile defense division has been formed in the Aerospace Forces for the first time. The first regiment equipped with the unique S-500 anti-aircraft missile system has entered combat duty," the head of the Defense Ministry said.

According to him, the installation is capable of hitting designated targets even in space.
