The cyber police of the Russian Interior Ministry has prepared a step-by-step algorithm for those who have become victims of remote fraud. The main recommendations are to immediately stop communicating with the scammer and contact the bank immediately. This was announced on December 17 by the press service of the Department for the Organization of combating the illegal use of information and communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"End the conversation immediately and block the number. Any "checks", "refunds" and "secret operations" are a continuation of fraud," the Telegram channel says.

The next step is to immediately call the bank at the official number and request the suspension of operations, the blocking of cards and the change of passwords. If the money was transferred in cash to the courier, you must immediately call the police at 102.

It is noted that it is important to preserve all evidence — correspondence, call recordings, bank notifications, by taking screenshots and recording dates, banking details and phone numbers. After that, you should delete suspicious applications, change passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and warn your loved ones.

The final stage will be a personal appeal to the police with a statement and the collected materials to further challenge the operations or recover the lost funds.
