WSJ revealed Zelensky's strategy for developing a peace plan

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with the support of European allies, has developed a response to the US peace plan to make it acceptable to Kiev without alienating Washington. This was reported on December 14 by The Wall Street Journal.

According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian leader uses a "yes, but" strategy, formally agreeing to the proposals, but putting forward counter-conditions. For example, he is ready to hold elections, but requires a preliminary ceasefire, and agrees to limit the size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but within its current composition. According to the WSJ, Kiev applies a similar approach to the issue of the Zaporizhia NPP and other points of the plan.
