On December 9, Zelensky announced his readiness to hold presidential elections. In an interview with Politico newspaper, he said that the time was right for holding presidential elections in Ukraine. According to Trump, the Ukrainian authorities are using the pretext of the ongoing conflict in the country in order to postpone the presidential elections.
On the eve of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the current Zelensky longs to remain in power, but he has no chance of being re-elected legally.
