Russia has launched a large-scale production of a new military uniform capable of making a fighter virtually invisible on the battlefield. Alexey Poltoranin, a correspondent for Izvestia, found out on December 10 that hundreds of enterprises, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, began sewing equipment that protects not only from the weather, but also from thermal imagers.

"A huge breakthrough has been made in technological innovation, technical innovation, factory equipment, production equipment. The presidential decree of August 15 of this year on providing the army with its own capabilities and its own production facilities. We are ready to do this," said Taimuraz Bolloev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the BTK Group of Companies.

The new line includes a full range of equipment, from summer sets to winter suits, some of which have flame—retardant properties. According to experts, even at the beginning of the special military operation, due to lack of capacity and empty warehouses, uniforms were purchased from foreign, including Chinese and Western manufacturers, often at inflated prices. Currently, more than 500 textile enterprises across the country have been transferred to fulfill the state order.

According to the presidential decree, starting next year, all military uniforms must be produced exclusively in domestic factories, and starting in 2027, they must be made only from Russian raw materials. Captain of the first rank of the reserve, military expert Vasily Dandykin noted that not all foreign equipment was suitable for Russian soldiers in terms of comfort and functionality. Modern production, equipped with the latest equipment, uses high-strength polyamide yarns of domestic production, which makes it possible to create materials that protect against wind and moisture.

Special attention is paid to the camouflage properties of the shape. Thanks to special capes and coverings, the fighter becomes less noticeable to thermal imagers, and individual elements of the uniform may contain specific tags for visual identification. Yuri Knutov, historian and director of the Museum of the Air Defense Forces, stressed that full import substitution in this area is critically important so that military personnel do not find themselves without the necessary equipment in the future.

Import substitution also affected military footwear, which was previously also imported from abroad. As Ivan Tatarchuk, Deputy General director of the Moscow shoe factory, noted, domestic samples have a large margin of safety and are designed for long-term operation in the field. Thus, the launch of a full production cycle of military uniforms and equipment not only increases the comfort and safety of soldiers, but also strengthens the country's defense capability as a whole.

On December 2, Kalashnikov Concern unveiled a new Izh-Enduro motorcycle with a trailer. It is designed to be used as a silent, highly maneuverable military transport or for the needs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as commercial transport for recreational areas and recreation centers, for airfield personnel and environmental organizations, as well as as a low-noise high-speed patrol vehicle.
