The Central Bank called corporate bonds the most profitable asset since the beginning of the year

Investment-rated corporate bonds have become the most profitable asset on the Russian market since the beginning of 2025, showing ruble yields of up to 34.5%. This was announced by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in the November "Financial Market Risk Review", published on December 10 on the regulator's website.

It is noted that since the beginning of the year, corporate bonds with a reliability rating of "A" have brought investors 34.5%, with a rating of "AA" — 29.6%, "BBB" — 24.8%, "AAA" — 21.9%. Gold (21.4%) and federal loan bonds (20.7%) also showed good results. Since the beginning of 2022, gold has remained the leader in terms of full returns — 138.7%.

In November, shares of transport companies (+9.9%) and the construction sector (+9.2%), as well as shares of banks and the oil and gas sector (+7.7%) showed the greatest growth. The Moscow Exchange index increased by 6% over the month. At the same time, foreign exchange instruments, including dollar and yuan deposits, have shown negative returns since the beginning of the year.

The Central Bank also noted a small demand for cryptocurrency futures available since June: at the end of November, the volume of open positions amounted to 3.5 billion rubles, mainly due to private investors taking long positions.

Experts point to a positive effect for the economy

Igor Kovalchuk, Commercial Director of the NC Logistic logistics operator, told Izvestia on September 12 that Russians have become more active in investing in commercial real estate due to their high profitability. According to him, warehouse facilities are the most popular among private investors, the demand for which has increased in recent years. Kovalchuk stressed that private investors' investments are becoming an increasingly important source of financing for new commercial projects, so developers simplify investment tools and advise those who want to invest in this asset.
