A resident of the Republic of Khakassia will appear in court on charges of committing a terrorist act related to the arson of a relay cabinet on the Krasnoyarsk Railway. This was announced on December 10 by the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport (VMSUT) of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"A 14-year—old resident of the Republic of Khakassia will stand trial for committing a terrorist act on the railway," TASS quoted the agency as saying.

The investigators completed the investigation of the criminal case, and the prosecutor approved the indictment. The criminal case will be sent to the Second Eastern District Military Court for further consideration.

According to investigators, in August 2025, a teenager set fire to a relay cabinet located on the stretch between Askiz and Chartykovsky stations for a fee, which led to damage of more than 300 thousand rubles. Operational support in the case was provided by employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia for Khakassia.

In August, three teenagers were arrested in the Saratov region, who are suspected of setting fire to railway equipment. According to the investigation, a 15-year-old Engels resident was contacted via messenger by a supervisor with an offer to commit a terrorist attack on transport infrastructure facilities for a monetary reward. The teenager accepted the offer and convinced two of his 16-year-old friends to join him.
