The Yugo-Zapadnaya and Putilovskaya metro stations will open in St. Petersburg by the end of 2025. This was announced on December 9 by the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, during a "Direct line" with the townspeople.

"By the end of the year, we will launch the Yugo-Zapadnaya and Putilovskaya stations," the press service of the St. Petersburg administration quoted him as saying on its website.

Beglov also said that the first stage of the Kupchino — Slavyanka high-speed tram line will also be launched in the city. According to him, the entire tram line will be open by the end of 2026: first, the city authorities will complete the construction of the section from Kupchino metro station to the village of Shushary. The governor noted that permission for the construction of the tram line has already been received from Gosstroynadzor.

"We promised the residents of St. Petersburg and the president to introduce this 11 km long section by the end of the year. And we will launch it. Let's make a New Year's gift to the residents of the southern regions. We will open the entire line by the end of next year," Beglov said.

On August 28, the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, in an interview with 78 TV channel, said that construction work at the Yugo-Zapadnaya and Putilovskaya stations themselves would be completed by the end of 2025.
