Russian and Chinese aircraft conducted patrols in the Asia-Pacific region
Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers of the Russian Military Space Forces (VKS) and Hong-6K bombers of the Chinese Air Force (VVS) conducted joint air patrols in the Asia-Pacific region (APR). This was announced on April 10 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"An air group consisting of Tu-95ms strategic missile carriers of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Hong-6k strategic bombers of the PLA Air Force carried out air patrols over the waters of the Japanese, East China Seas and the western Pacific Ocean," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The joint flight lasted about eight hours. Fighter cover was provided by the Russian Su-30SM and Su-35S, as well as the Chinese Jian-16. In some sections of the route, the missile carriers were escorted by fighters from foreign countries.
The Defense Ministry stressed that all actions were carried out in strict accordance with international law, and no violations of air borders were allowed. The event was held within the framework of the military cooperation plan for 2025 and is not directed against third countries.
On November 25, Tu-160 strategic missile carriers performed a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Arctic Ocean. According to the Ministry of Defense, the flight duration of the Russian bombers exceeded 11 hours.
