Macron's wife publicly insulted feminists
French First Lady Brigitte Macron has publicly insulted feminists who opposed rape. This was reported on December 8 by the France24 TV channel.
It is specified that on Saturday, December 6, a group of activists disrupted the performance of 51-year-old comedian Ari Abittan. The TV channel reports that in 2021 he was accused of rape, but in 2023, investigators dropped all charges against him due to lack of evidence. The activists reminded Abittan of this story by going to his stand-up show wearing masks with the words "rapist", and also shouted that he was guilty of a crime.
The next day, on December 7, the first lady of France came to the stand-up performance with her daughter. Then Abittan admitted that "he was scared," probably because the activists might disrupt the second performance. In response to the comedian's worries, Brigitte Macron said: "If there are any dirty bitches there, we will kick them out." Judging by the video, which spread in the media and social networks, Abittan was pleased with such a reaction from the wife of the French leader.
The feminists from the group #NousToutes ("All of us" from French), who disrupted the performance, reacted sharply to Macron's behavior. On the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist in the territory of the Russian Federation), they turned an insult to the wife of the French president into a hashtag, the Newspaper clarifies.Ru». French actress Judith Godresh was among the celebrities who supported this campaign, France24 notes. On her social media, she wrote: "I'm a dirty bitch too."
It is also alleged that the French first lady's team tried to justify her, explaining that Macron did not insult feminists, but thus criticized their "radical methods." However, the activists did not believe these excuses. The channel quotes one of the band members under the pseudonym Gwen, who said that the band was "deeply shocked and disappointed" by Macron's behavior.
On May 26, BMFTV reported that Brigitte slapped her husband Macron in the face during a visit to Vietnam. Later, the French president explained that it was a joke. French lawyer Francois Danglean noted that the situation between the spouses ridicules the country.
Later, on July 8, it was reported that Macron's wife refused to accept her husband's outstretched hand to descend from the plane upon arrival in the UK. Instead, she used a handrail to descend.
