A German journalist predicted Ukraine's imminent collapse without Western support
On December 8, Die Welt correspondent Christoph Wanner said that Ukraine would face collapse if it lost supplies of Western military aid.
According to him, in this case Kiev will not be able to hold out for long.
"He has (US President Donald Trump. — Ed.) there are all the levers. He needs to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, and then they won't last long," the journalist said, and a video of his speech was posted on the publication's YouTube channel.
Earlier, on December 6, the Kyiv Post newspaper reported that the American government is considering the possibility of increasing military assistance to Kiev for the Catholic Christmas, which is celebrated on December 25. It was noted that such actions may indicate the intention of the United States to support Ukraine with weapons, even despite the statement about its unwillingness to assume additional obligations for the defense of Europe within the framework of NATO.
In turn, Trump announced on December 2 that Washington was no longer financially involved in the Ukrainian conflict. He also expressed hope that the Ukrainian crisis would be resolved.
At the same time, on December 7, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Roman Kostenko, said that the situation with arms supplies to Kiev was in critical condition.
