A high-alert mode has been introduced in Angarsk due to an accident at CHPP-9, where one of the boilers malfunctioned. This was announced on December 7 by the mayor of the city Sergey Petrov.

"The emergency situation at CHPP-9 caused a decrease in the temperature of the supplied heat to residential buildings and social facilities. A high—alert regime has been introduced in the Angarsk district," Petrov said in his Telegram channel.

He added that the decrease in temperature is due to the failure of the second boiler. At the moment, specialists are working on troubleshooting, the repair is scheduled to be completed by December 11.

At this time, the third boiler will be activated. After it is put into operation, the temperature should rise.

Earlier, on October 31, it was reported about the restriction of water and heat supply in Orel due to damage to the thermal power plant (CHP) as a result of an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was clarified that such measures affected three districts of the city.
